Job Summary:  Food Service personnel are responsible to the Director of Food Service, Building Administrator, Food Service Field Supervisor, and the Cook Manager. The Cook Assistant makes a “School Meal Pattern” lunch available to every school child; assists in preparing and serving nutritious food as required by participation in the federal program; and provides sanitary working conditions.

Salary: $20.24-$24.65 Salary is based on the 24-25 Food Service Salary Schedule (subject to change) salary placement is based on experience and longevity and will be determined by Human Resources.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be neat, clean, alert, accurate, and have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, staff and students. Requires strong basic skills to accurately follow written instructions and utilize basic math calculations. Position requires stamina (standing long hours) and ability to consistently lift 30 pounds. Must be a good role model and enjoy working with children. Must have or obtain a Food Handler’s permit. Specific qualifications are as follows:

Complete a paper Transfer Form, which may be obtained from the Human Resources Office for Northshore School District, or on our website (nsd.org – select “Employment,” then “Current Employees,” then “HR Forms;” click on the blue link on the right under “Can’t find the form your looking for? Check the Northshore School District Staff Toolbox for Inter HR Forms here;” you’ll need to sign in, then select “Transfer Request Form” – (You will need to print the Transfer Request form and fill it out). You may also submit a resume, cover letter, and other relevant materials.
  2. Submit a completed transfer form, specifying the position and job number for which you are applying, to Human Resources by 4:00 p.m. of the closing date.
  3. Interviews and/or a written test may be required. The opportunity to take the written test will be given prior to the interview.
